Named for the artificial Rajsamand Lake, built by Mewar's Maharana Raj Singh in the 1660s; India's largest marble-producing district, supplying much of the country's white and coloured marble. Also home to Kumbhalgarh Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with one of the longest continuous fort walls in the world.
