Beawar

Separated from Ajmer district on 7 August 2023. Founded in 1836 as a British cantonment town, Beawar grew into a major trading centre for raw cotton and cloth, with its historic bazaar and cotton mills; it is also known as the birthplace of India's Right to Information movement following a 1996 grassroots agitation there.
