MAA SHARDA SHAKTIPEETH, MAIHAR GHARANA Area 2,723 km²; population 856,028 (2011, pre-split estimate). Carved out of Satna district in October 2023. Home to the hilltop Maa Sharda Devi Temple, a revered Shakti shrine, and to the Maihar Gharana of Hindustani classical music, founded by Ustad Allauddin Khan, teacher of Ravi Shankar and Ali Akbar Khan.
