Chitrakoot

UP's least populous district (per the 2011 Census) and a major Hindu pilgrimage site — tradition holds Rama, Sita and Lakshmana spent part of their exile here around the Kamadgiri hill and Mandakini river; also among the state's poorest and most drought-affected districts.
