Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Gateway to the Ajanta and Ellora cave complexes (both UNESCO World Heritage Sites) and a historic city founded by Malik Ambar, later expanded by Aurangzeb as Aurangabad before its 2023 renaming. Its economy runs on tourism around the Mughal-era Bibi Ka Maqbara alongside a modern auto-parts and steel manufacturing base.
