Thiruvananthapuram

State capital, population 3,301,427, Kerala's densest district (~1,509/km²). Home to Technopark, India's first IT park, and the Padmanabhaswamy Temple, whose sealed vaults yielded an estimated $22 billion in gold and jewels when opened in 2011 — possibly the world's wealthiest temple. Also the seat of the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, ISRO's lead rocket-design facility.
