Was Delhi's most populous district at the 2011 Census (3,656,539 people) and its second-largest by area (442.8 km²), with a density of 8,298/km², literacy around 84.5-84.7%, and sex ratioThe number of females per 1,000 males in a population — a key demographic indicator in Indian census data. 862. The January 2026 reorganisation reduced its size: the Shakur Basti and Shalimar Bagh areas moved into the new Central North district, and Mundka moved into the new Outer North district, so the pre-split figures above now overstate the remaining district. Retains the Rohini Sub-City, Saraswati Vihar, the 235-metre Pitampura TV Tower (built 1988), and Netaji Subhash Place. Served by the Red Line (Rithala, Rohini East/West, Pitampura, Netaji Subhash Place, Kohat Enclave).
